For the last few months, we’ve been running a contest for CEA Members in Colorado to win a $5000 school lounge makeover.
We’re proud to announce that Colfax Elementary was the winner this year, and were presented with their check on Friday. Now, a team of designers is working with the school to determine how to best improve their lounge!
At CalCas – we truly enjoy putting together programs that allow us to offer help to firefighters, educators, nurses, and peace officers. One such program was the “Help your Fire Station” contest we ran earlier this year.
In January, Mike Stopa, a firefighter and EMT (and also the VP of the Medina Township Firefighters Association) won $500 that his station will use to replenish their fire prevention materials.
For more information, you can read the newspaper article here. To keep up to date with upcoming contests, be sure to join us on Facebook or Twitter.
We’ve got a winner! Melanie Guilbeau, who’s a critical care trauma nurse in Walnut Creek, CA is the winner of our $200 Valentine’s Day gift card. While we ran the contest straight through to the big day, we’re hoping Melanie can use the card for something great!
We heard a lot of good options on our Facebook Page – and we’re hoping Melanie will come by and tell us how she spent hers!
We also teamed up with Identity Theft 911 to provide all of our Facebook fans a great guide to protecting yourself at tax time. We’re not advertising just yet, so I wanted to give blog readers first crack at it. We’re going to share a lot of Fans Only content in the coming year – so click that “Like” button and bookmark that page! Go here to get the guide.
As a way to say “thank you” for all the great things CEA members do for our community, California Casualty is giving away $5,000 to a lucky educator in Colorado.
The $5k will go towards an “Ultimate School Lounge Makeover” – where the school and designers will work together to make the school’s lounge a comfortable, modernized refuge from the rigors of the school day.
Makinya Ward, a CalCas employee and one of the project coordinators had this to say:“the winner has many options to choose from including a flat screen television, computer equipment with access to online publications, sofas, wall paintings, coffee stations, pop corn machines, and much more. We are really proud to bring a little light to our heroes in the schools.”
The contest is open to all CEA members, but you have to enter to win. It’s also important to share the contest with all the other CEA members in your school, because the more entries your school has, the better its chances to win.
Colorado is the first of many states that we want to offer this contest in – we want to give as many people as possible the chance to win a School Lounge Makeover. If you want this contest in your state, comment below or let us know on Facebook!
