Deputy Keven R. was on patrol in Dallas when he happened to notice something peculiar: a car’s brake lights sticking out of a lake. He immediately drove down to the reservoir, pointed his patrol car’s headlights across the water’s surface and got out of his car. That’s when he realized that the car was slowly sinking- with two young women trapped inside. Deputy Keven R. immediately took off his utility belt and waded into the freezing water. He then swam to the car and shattered the car window’s glass. Inside, the two women were beating on the window, begging for help and telling him that they could not swim. He pulled both women out of the vehicle, ‘bear-hugging’ them as he swam them back to safety. Rowan barely got both women to shore before the car was completely submerged. Amazingly, the entire ordeal was captured on the Deputy’s patrol car dash cam. Check it out below:

I am proud to know that this officer truly works his calling as a peace officer to care for the citizens he protects. Not only these two ladies that were helped in the video depicted here, but in his everyday work that he chose to do to bring order and care to the citizens of our town.
I vote Keven Rowan to win this award. The lake was frigid the night he saved these two girls. He was about to watch them drown if he didn’t do something quick! The video shows proof as to why he should win the hero of the year award.
Wow. What a hero. He definitely deserves an award for saving 2 lives, lives that cannot be replaced. This man placed his life in harms way to protect and serve. Thank you for sacrificing. God bless him and his family.

Kevin Rowan is a true hero in every sense of the word. He had no regard for his own life. He saw a life and death situation and acted upon it. The water was freezing cold and his ownly thought was to save the 2 girls. I vote for Kevin Rowan.
