I don’t understand NEA. Is this still California Casualty?
Hi Mary, The National Education Association (NEA), the nation’s largest professional employee organization, is committed to advancing the cause of public education. The NEA is one of the affiliate groups that we work with for our educator audience. This is still California Casualty, we just wanted to make the announcement that we can now also insure extended family of NEA members. 🙂 Please let us know if you have any questions.
Can my adult children out of state be covered under this insurance?
Hi Sandi, we would love to take a look and see if your children out of state can be covered by California Casualty. Please give our Sales department a call at 844-854-7265 and they will check for you. 🙂
Have a great day!
Hi, I just spoke with CalCas customer service on the phone and they said that only my spouse or children can have their own policies. Has this just not been updated yet with CalCas, or am I misunderstanding something? He mentioned that sometimes they can insure other people who are not nurses/educators/etc, but they wouldn’t get the group pricing. Is this article saying that my siblings or parents CAN get their own policies and with the same (group) pricing as me?
Hi Aimee, thank you for making us aware. You are understanding the NEA Extended Family program perfectly. Siblings and parents CAN get their own policies. It seems as though the representative you spoke with was not clear about the new program and we are so sorry about that. We’ve informed our Customer Care Manager and she is going to look into your call with the rep and make them aware as well. Please feel free to reach back out to us and add your extended family members. If you feel more comfortable you can ask for a team manager to do that for you, or we can have a manager reach out personally to assist you. Please let us know.
Once again we are very sorry. Have a great day.
